Dr. Jessica McConahay PT, DPT

Therapeutic Pain Specialist, Fellow of Pain Science

I’ve taken a non-linear path to becoming a Physical Therapist. Before entering healthcare, I was a musician, worked in a start-up, and taught yoga and meditation. My curiosity about the mind and body eventually led me back to school to study neuroscience and kinesiology, and I later earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of California, San Francisco.

In my clinical work, I draw on a long-standing mindfulness practice, an interest in neuroscience, and an awareness of how thoughts, emotions, and experiences influence healing. I’ve completed over two years of post-doctoral training in pain science and continue to pursue education that bridges physical rehabilitation with mental and emotional wellbeing. Some might describe this as a mind-body approach—I simply believe in seeing you as a whole.

Why “Nudge”?

When we meet our experiences with curiosity, we begin to sense the edges of what’s possible. Sometimes, all that’s needed is a gentle nudge to explore those edges. Working together means having a partner along that path—someone to help you navigate challenges, find steadiness in the middle, and uncover new possibilities for movement and healing
